2010 Shelby Snakebite

Everyone here at the shop was excited to get in our first 2010 Shelby for a Snake Bite tm conversion. The overall driving experience of the 2010 differs very little from the 07 - 09 cars, maybe 3% better handling but the shifter is no better and the clutch has a very light pedal. The initial dyno runs on the all stock 2010 with 135 miles on the clock produced 475 RWHP. Trying our new blue filter produced a 5 hp gain. The factory A/F ratio was 9.5 and under 10 and rose to 11 at 6200 rpm - dyno rpm would not hold steady at hi-rpm due to the over rich factory tune. The Series II Snake Bite throttle body which is based on an OEM unit made 24 RWHP and flowed 1250 cfm compared to 1035 stock. The Series III flows 1450 but was not used on this kit. With the addition of the Snake Bite tm kit the factory tune leveled at 11.0 with no additional tuning, timing was 21 deg factory. This car used the stock MAFF housing with our air filter and NGK 4177 plugs gapped at .035. With the Snake Bite kit, with complete factory pulleys installed, peak power rose to 569 RWHP, an increase of 93 hp and there were gains under peak of over 110 from stock. This car now has complete factory appearances, yet produces tire shredding power and pulls like a banshee in all gears. We were not able to road test the car with the factory tune because of rain but we added an X-CAL 3 with our tune and the car ran 100% in all tuning details. There were no load levels or pedal positions that felt soft or out of place, it actually drove out better than stock. I am confident in mailing this tune out with the kit. In second gear this car will now burn rubber at will at any speed. Overall I am very pleased with how our kit worked out on the 2010. There were far more different details in this car than I expected. For more information on this report or details of the conversion process and the parts involved, please give me a call or send me an E-mail at Dynobob@stiegemeier.com.

PD_2010_Shelby_compiled.jpg (998.06 KB) - Today

Forum: 2010 Shelby Snake Bite

STIEGEMEIER SNAKE BITE vs COMPETITOR

Test 1

Stiegemeier Snake Bite tm vs Competitor port 3.65 upper x 4 lb lower.

The second topic of discussion is centered on the lay down of power at high RPM for the Snake Bite tm on the power rise. This is due mostly to the restrictions of the OEM exhaust manifolds. I say mostly because there are other factors involved, but that is a discussion to lengthy to discuss at this time.

The Stiegemeier Porting team continually strives to learn and improve our products so we have invested heavily on new testing equipment that will undoubtedly lead to new innovations an unseen power levels from this platform. These test were a great help in equating flow numbers from the SXF-1000 Flow machine to RWHP dyno numbers.
The ability to flow test the supercharger independent of the vehicle will be a new tool in our constant learning curve.
Sincerely,
Robert D.
4-vane rotor swap?

Maybe this is insanity talking, but is it possible to swap the 4-vane TVS rotors into an older 3-vane blower unit?

Forum: ASK BOB

Max output of snakebite?

Bob,

I was wondering what the max supported boost is for the snakebite? I just got mine back with the 3.2" pulley and was wondering what the smallest upper only setup you can go to is?

Also, with the new porting and rebuild work, what's the RPM's of the eaton compared to stock? How fast can it be spun (and with what size pulley)?

I am trying to get an idea of how to maximize my setup...and wanted these questions answered before making any decisions.

Thanks

Forum: ASK BOB
